From Rubble to Hope: Stand with Fouad & Hussein

Hello everyone – this fundraiser was created to support the Matroud family in Gaza. Palestinians in Gaza have been subjected to nonstop bombing and displacement for the last two years. Food is almost nonexistent, and the food that can be found is exorbitantly expensive. For as long as the siege remains, your donations will help this family’s survival. Below are two of their stories:

My name is Fouad Abu Matroud, and I am from Gaza, specifically from the city of Khan Younis. During this devastating war, I lost both of my parents. I am now struggling to survive and care for my four young daughters: Haya, Noor, Hoor, and Jana.

Our home has been partially destroyed, and I can no longer provide even the most basic necessities for my family. One of the most heartbreaking challenges is the lack of baby formula — and when it’s available, the price is far beyond what I can afford.

I am reaching out for your help to provide food, milk, and shelter for my daughters. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference for us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

and

My name is Hussein Abu Matroud, I’m 26 years old and currently living in Khan Younis, Gaza, with my uncle Fouad. I’m married but have no children.

This war has taken so much from me.

I lost my beloved sister Noor and my brother Fouad, who was killed while trying to collect humanitarian aid in western Rafah. Another one of my brothers is currently receiving medical treatment in Qatar, accompanied by my mother. I am now left alone, carrying the weight of these losses on my own.

In addition to losing my family members, I also lost my only source of income — my car — which I used to rely on to support my life and family.

Life here has become unbearable. There is no stability, no income, and barely any access to food or basic needs. I’m reaching out for your help to rebuild what little I have left — to survive, and hopefully, to start again.

Any contribution, big or small, means the world to me. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
